British neo-prog rock
IQ
With a 45-year history, IQ is one of the most respected names in progressive rock. Formed in 1981 by guitarist Mike Holmes and keyboard player Martin Orford, the band soon became a regular fixture at London's legendary Marquee Club. Classic albums such as 'The Wake' (1985), the monumental double concept album 'Subterranea' (1997) and 'Dark Matter' (2004), voted Album of the Year by music magazines worldwide, cemented their reputation at the top of the genre.
IQ have lost none of their power. The epic double album 'Resistance' (2019) was hailed by many as their best work to date, and 2025's 'Dominion', their 13th studio album, received universal acclaim from critics and fans. Following an unprecedented run of shows across the UK, Europe, Canada and the prestigious Cruise To The Edge in the USA, IQ celebrate their 45th anniversary in 2026 with sold-out Weekender events and new studio material on the way.
