Eddie Jobson's U.K. Revisited
Edwin “Eddie” Jobson (born 28 April 1955 in Billingham, England) is a leading British keyboardist, violinist and composer. He is internationally renowned as a pioneer of synthesizer technology and as one of the first musicians to give the electric violin a prominent role in rock music. Jobson was regarded as a musical prodigy, receiving a prestigious diploma from the Royal Academy of Music at the age of just eight.
Throughout his remarkable career, he has played a key role in a number of legendary progressive rock and art rock acts, including Curved Air, Roxy Music, Frank Zappa and Jethro Tull.
In the late 1970s, he formed the progressive rock supergroup U.K. together with John Wetton, Allan Holdsworth and Bill Bruford. Over the past two years, he has been performing with U.K. Revisited, a band featuring Jobson alongside Marc Bonilla (CTA, Keith Emerson Band), Alex Machacek (U.K., Brand X) and Marco Minnemann (U.K., Hans Zimmer, The Aristocrats, Steven Wilson).
In 2017, Jobson received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Progressive Music Awards, and in 2019 he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Roxy Music.
